Mynatt Minute – Banquet Edition 2012
The Powell Panthers celebrated the most winning season in school history on Saturday, January 21, as some 300 supporters joined the team at the Foundry for the annual Powell High Football Banquet.
2007 Powell graduate Jared McGaha was the featured speaker. McGaha recently completed his college football career as a Michigan State University Spartan with a 33-30 overtime victory over Georgia in the Outback Bowl. McGaha owns a Big Ten Championship ring, earned with the Spartan’s 2010 Big Ten Championship, and was a starter at both offensive guard and tackle. The former Tennessee All State performer will graduate from Michigan State in May with a degree in sociology, with a career in law enforcement planned for his future. That career could be put on hold, however, as McGaha will participate in pro day at Michigan State in March and hopes to get a shot to make a roster in an NFL training camp.
