The unofficial start of pre-season for the Panthers got underway on Monday as the Powell Touchdown Club hosted the annual Powell Youth Football Camp. Panther coaches and players served as instructors, and welcomed some 170 future PHS Panther players, ages 6-14, to Scarbro Stadium. Each camper receives instruction on both offense and defense, and gets an opportunity to meet and get to know the current Panthers.
The Panthers return to participate in the Webb School Pass League thisweek, and then go in shorts and t-shirts until they are allowed to don the pads on August 1. Powell's first scrimmage will take place on August 5 at Alcoa.
