Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Coach Matt Lowe
As an All State quarterback and defensive back during his high school career at Powell, Matt Lowe employed a lead by example attitude- one that carreid over to his college career when his team mates at Middle Tennessee State University elected him a team captain.  Not much has changed during his coaching career.  Lowe still coaches with that same "play hard all of the time" attitude and it is obvious that it has rubbed off on his team.
Lowe has spent his still relatively young coaching career of 10 years, 6 as the head coach at his alma mater.  Last year, in his 5th year at the helm, Lowe led his troops to the first undefeated regular season at Powell since the 1990 season, finishing the year with an 11-1 record.  With the Panthers returning some 15 starters from that team that was ranked the #1 team in Class 5A statewide for 3 weeks during 2010, there is certainly good reason to believe that the 2011 Panthers have much to look forward to and motivation to work towards a deeper run in the playoffs this fall.
Lowe's career head coaching record improved to 35-22 after 2010, as the Panthers extended its streak of qualifying for the playoffs to 10 consecutive years.
Matt Lowe- a lifelong Powell Panther who honestly does love coaching football, and especially coaching football at his alma mater.
