Four Panther Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent
By Bill Mynatt, Radio Voice of Powell Panther Football on AM 620 WRJZ

In what has become an annual occurrence, the tradition of Powell High School football seniors signing Letters of Intent on National Signing Day continued on Wednesday, February 1.  Four graduating members of the Panther squad made their intentions official in a ceremony witnessed by a huge crowd of family, fellow students, coaches, school administrators, faculty, and Panther supporters.

The 4 who signed on Wednesday were:
Dy’shawn Mobley – signed with the University of Kentucky
Dustin McPhetridge – signed with Austin Peay State University
Chris Easterday – signed with Carson-Newman College
Wesley Sparks – signed with Carson-Newman College

“As coaches, this is one of those days in which we get the most satisfaction out of what we do as coaches and educators”, Panther head coach Matt Lowe said.  “Being able to help these young men continue their educations by playing football is something we take a great deal of pride in.  Being able to help pay, or in some cases, fully pay, for their college is a blessing.  We couldn’t be more proud of them or happier for them.”
Lowe indicated that there will likely be several more Panther seniors signing letters of intent and scholarship papers in the weeks to come as offers are extended and financial packages firmed up.
PowellPanthersFootball.com will have coverage of those additional signings as they take place.
